The pre-election period or ‘period of sensitivity’, which has sometimes been referred to informally as “purdah”, is the period of time immediately before elections or referendums. During this time specific restrictions are placed on the use of public resources and the communication activities of public bodies, including NHS organisations. This is to ensure that the NHS is seen to be politically impartial at all times.
Over the next few weeks we will be pausing most media, communications and patient and public engagement activities.
Please check our website for updates and announcements about any of our projects, once the election is over.
