The NHS is inviting people to attend one of three public meetings to discuss the development of local care hubs in west Kent.

Events will be hosted by NHS West Kent Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) and supported by its partners on:

  • Tuesday 19 June – Angel Centre, Angel Lane, Tonbridge TN9 1SF – 6pm-9pm,
  •  Friday 22 June – Oakwood House, Oakwood Road, Maidstone ME16 8AE – 10am-1pm,
  • Tuesday 3 July – Stag Theatre, London Road, Sevenoaks TN13 1ZZ – 1.30pm-4.30pm.

The development of local care hubs is part of a wider plan to provide better access to care and support in people’s own communities. Some health and care services need to be provided across a larger area for more people, and to be based together, in a hub.

These events are an opportunity to hear more about and discuss the work being undertaken to develop the model for local care hubs and to specifically seek views around the ideas so far on services that could be based in a hub

These meetings follow a series of events held last summer, where NHS West Kent CCG shared the plans for local care and how they are working closely with partner organisations including health and social care and the district/borough councils to deliver this.

Dr Bob Bowes, Chair for NHS West Kent CCG said: “The development of local care hubs as part of our wider local care model is really exciting and will support and improve the way we deliver care to people in their own communities. Over the past couple of years people have told us how they would like health and social care to be working together, with more services near or in people’s homes.  Hubs will play a part in delivering these things and we are now at a stage where we would like to talk to people about the work we are doing and seek views around the emerging service model for hubs.

“It is important that the views of patients, the public and staff help us to shape our hubs to ensure that the plans are robust and will work for our communities. I hope that many of you will attend and join the conversation.”

The events are free to attend but advance booking is required. To book your place, please email nelcsu.engagement@nhs.net.
